We have had the absolute pleasure to welcome many big brothers and sisters to our studio recently. Aged from eighteen months to ten years old, we have had so much fun capturing beautiful images of them holding their new baby. We enjoy helping them welcome the baby and celebrating them embarking on their new role as a big brother or sister, and the final results are totally adorable. When we show families their images in a cinema style viewing, the sibling images are often the ones that parents like best – and we often have a few tears at this point.
Many families find out about our newborn photography offer when they are expecting their second baby. There is often a moment of regret that they didn’t have professional images of their firstborn. But images of both your children together are equally precious, and capture a moment of calm in your busy family life. Older brothers and sisters often show a level of care and love for their tiny sibling, which is a privilege to capture on camera, and families tell us how much pleasure their final artwork brings them.
And if you are slightly concerned about bringing your lively toddler to our studio – please don’t be. We often try to capture images with older siblings first, so your older child or children are then free to relax. For younger children, the studio is prepared with toys (and snacks if you permit) to keep them entertained while we capture images of your new baby by themselves. Sarah is a mum of three busy boys and remembers well the first few weeks of adjusting to having two or more children. She promises to make your studio session enjoyable and relaxing.
We have limited availability for newborn shoots, so do contact us once you have had your scan, and we will book you in. For the best results, babies should be around 5-10 days old, but we love to see big brothers and sisters at any age.
